Q2 Syllabus for The Stock Market Academy
Here is a run down of posts you can expect in the coming months.
I’m on a mission to share what I know about financial markets and how they work. Below you will find the topics I plan to cover in the coming months (in no particular order). Bookmark this post so you can refer back to it. As I publish each of the following articles below, I’ll link to them from here.
Trading & Investing in General
I’m a big believer in getting back to basics. If you’re subscribed to this newsletter (thank you!), it tells me you have voracious appetite for knowledge. I will do my best to share what I know.
How to trade stocks, with a simple strategy.
How to invest in the stock market for beginners.
How to learn stock market money management.
How to invest in stocks online.
How to start trading stocks with $100/mo.
How to be a day trader
Suggested books to learn how to trade stocks
Bollinger Bands
I’ve written a lot about Bollinger Bands, but I plan to dive in further with this powerful tool:
Bollinger bands explained for beginners
Suggested books to learn how to trade stocks
The CBOE Put/Call Ratio
This is the tool that is most akin to “the line” Vegas uses in sports. It’s very powerful. Worth a deeper dive, beginning with a primer on the options market followed by the sentiment indicator.
What are put and call options? A primer on this side market.
A comprehensive letter on the CBOE Put/Call Ratio
Japanese Candlesticks
Japanese Candlesticks date back to the 1700s in Japan, and offer powerful insights into the psychology of market participants. Candlesticks often pinpoint turning points with great accuracy. I actually haven’t done a full blown post on candlesticks yet, but I’ve covered the “hammer” reversal pattern in a few posts. Here is what’s up next:
Bullish engulfing candle
Bearish engulfing candle
Reversal candlestick patterns and how to trade them.
How to read a candlestick chart
The Shooting star pattern candlestick and what it means
This isn’t all I’ll be covering. I’ll continue to share market observations. Just consider this post a table of contents, where you can refer back to it and drill down on whatever topic you want.
